Chai Promise

In the Spring of 2010 Chai were approached by three young mothers, Laura Avigdori, Natalie Chester and Emma Myers, who, motivated by personal experiences of friends and loved ones affected by cancer, wanted to create an initiative that would specifically raise money for Chai’s Children and Family Support Service.

Chai Promise was officially launched in June at a Reception in The Wohl Wing at Chai’s Hendon Centre. Targeted to raise a total of £100,000, Chai Promise is about hosting small fundraising events in aid of Chai where guests are encouraged to follow suit by hosting their own subsequent event with their own different group of friends.

So far, events have included a launch reception, swap shops, birthday parties, bring n’ buy sales, dinner parties, a psychic evening and World Cup Final BBQ. Already diarised for 2011 is a Gift Fair and a Pub Quiz to name but a few…

Events can be as small or large, simple or extravagant as you wish.

We will provide you with Chai Promise Packs to distribute to your guests to enable them to make their “Promise”. Should you wish, a member of the Chai Team can come to speak to your guests about Chai.
